calling LAG2010 - need your help on Michael Herman settings!

started a thread earlier on helping my mom set her 2.62ct E IF RB stone with a delicate halo setting ...

i sent an inquiry email to both LM and Maytal, it's been 3 days and i have not heard back, so i'm exploring other options while waiting ...

I visited Michael Herman's website and am impressed with his pave work ... and realized that LAG2010's gorgeous RB halo ring was made by him !

LAG2010 (or others who have dealt with him) , can you share your experience? time frame, price point, quality, etcetc ....

i plan to send him an inquiry email asap.

i am still deciding between LM , MAYTAL and MICHAEL HERMAN

anyone can lend an opinion would be greatly appreciated !

- will LM set the stone as high as i would like ... or is he very adamant about low settings, ideally i would like it to be at least 7mm between the top of the diamond to the bottom of the donut ... long production time ? quoted roughly $4K

- maytal --> she's all the way in Cali, might be difficult to communicate what exactly i want ... still waiting for her response

- michael herman --> local, price is reasonable, but worry about reputation as i am not seeing many posts about him here ... quoted roughly $3K

hi there! i haven't logged on in over a week, so just saw this post. our experience with MH was fantastic. i can't speak to time frames because my engagement ring was a complete surprise, but my husband must have been pleased because we used MH for my u-prong eternity and husband's platinum band.

in general, the pave work is incredible - we have a friend who also used him for a pave setting, and her ring is so beautiful and delicate. and what i love about my ring is that the prongs are soooo tiny, it allows the full beauty of the diamond to stand out.

the settings are also very sturdy too. i've acidentally bumped my e-ring a few times (not used to wearing it on my right hand) and have yet to lose a pave. and since MH is local, i've had him check the setting to ensure i didn't do any significant damage. luckily, i haven't!

I purchased my engagement ring from Michael Herman about 6 months ago and a wonderful experience ! His work and attention to detail is amazing. The claws holding the diamond are so fine you can barely see them !! We went to many jewelers and felt that not only was his work is some of the best around but also his prices were very competitive. We did a cushion cut with a Micro pave halo setting and a matching band..
