Calling Kismet.....

Tell me how your zircon rings have held up? Do you wear them often? Any chips or abraisons? I know it's a softer stone, but I purchased one today and was really planning on a ring project for it. Opionions?

The orangy zircon is the first piece I had done after joining PS, so it was made around 2005. When I first got it, I wore it quite a lot (several times a week) but now that I have more rings in the rotation I don't wear it as much (once a month or so). I looked at it under a 10x loupe and I don't see any chips or facet abrasions yet. The blue zircon I got back in (I think) 2006 but I just had set this summer and have worn it several times. This stone does show a small chip under the 10x loupe but I can't notice anything without it. To be fair, I have fairly poor vision so someone with better eyes could possibly see things I can't.

Both of these stones were inexpensive... $75 or so for the orange and free for the blue. I get more enjoyment out of wearing my stones than looking at them in boxes so it was worth it to me to set them even if they will wear down over time.
