I hope you don''t mind sharing the paint colors you used in your home.

My wood floors (Brazilian Cherry) seem to be similar to the ones you have in your home and I am having a hard time finding a nice color to match without looking to orangey(?).

I love the colors both of you chose!

Thanks

I, like JCrow, used Benjamin Moore paint. I think in her main room she used Scarecrow and in her bedrooms used Stonehouse (which is what I used) and her cabinets were Muslin.

I have no idea about Pennquaker.

Thanks Blondie,

Is Stonehouse really light b/c in the pictures on BM''s website it''s really light.

yes, stonehouse is fairly light but i LOVE it. i really do. it''s a great neutral color.

good searching skills :)

I also used Benjamin Moore and the color that I used is called Blond Wood. However, I got my paint mixed in AURA and I think that it makes a difference. Depending on where you live, AURA is upwards of 65 a gallon.

But, if you want something different, I''d be totally willing to whip out my paint decks and recommend you some colors. I say that because paint looks different depending on the light exposure of your home. Also, get GE Reveal lightbulbs. Unlike other bulbs, reveal bulbs emit "white" light as opposed to "yellow" light. They are the best.

I recommend you test before you buy!

Bumping this one.

Thanks to all the pics of beautifully done houses here, I went out and bought the Benjamin Moore designer paint deck. We are (desperately?) hoping to sell our house next year, but there's so much work to be done first. The major thing is the entire first floor needs to be painted.

I'm stuck with a solid golden oak staircase and floor in the living room. The livingroom is eastern exposure, so it gets darker quickly. The back of the house is eternally bright and can take any colour at all. I'd like to unify the whole main floor with one neutral colour however, since we are trying to sell. Any suggestions? I've liked Stonehouse, but think it may be a bit too light. But I definitely have to pick something that would appeal to more people or at least look like a blank slate. Ideas?

The back of the house has the kitchen/family room. The kitchen cabinets are mission style oak in a medium tone with hint of cherry to it, pewter mission-style pulls and nobs. I'm considering ripping up all the flooring in that area and doing a porcelain tile that looks like adventurine stone. We have dogs, so hardwood is out. The tile would be a neutral lighter colour. TIA.

Not adventurine stone floors. Doh! Gemstones on the mind. Travertine! Soft light coloured stone.

Paint can look different at differing times of day due to the light outside and the lighting used inside. Also, different locales have different light...east coast light can be bluer in nature and therefore less warm and it does change things up. When I moved from CA to PA I noticed things looked different in my home there...

Well, I live in Canada, just north of Buffalo. Does that help? We get a lot of sun year round in our location. Forgot to mention our bedroom and ensuite are done in Sisal.
