Hi DeeJay!

Thought you might have missed my answer to your question on the racing game in the Christmas thread, thought I would repost so you can find it:

It's one of those racing games with a steering wheel and peddles. DH knows me too well. Turns out I kind of stink at it, but that's okay, it's fun! I hit everything constantly, I can't quite catch up to the pack, but it's fun! :D

What is the game of which you speak?!?

Hi DeeJay! :wavey:

It's a PS3 game system, with the Gran Turismo game, and a Driving Force Wheel. If you want to try it, buy all that from someplace with a good return policy and rent the video game (RedBox maybe?). If you decide you don't like it, you can return.

Have you checked out ebay for Porsche dealer posters? I got one for DH's Carrera, the same year as his, same color, a nice big 30 x 40. Also got the poster frame on ebay. That was an Xmas hit! :appl:

Also check ebay for 1:18's of your car, I found one of my car, same color inside and out. I had to set an ebay email alert for it, and it took about 6 weeks, but sure enough, everything shows up on ebay eventually.

ILander --thank you so much for this! I actually didn't see your reply because I thought it would be nice to ring in the new year with. Bad case of the flu and haven't done much but sleep for the past week or so...

I do want the model and poster of my car, but do far I can't find the exact one. I will keep looking, and I think I'll set up an alert on eBay --good idea!

Billy Ray and I have an appointment with the DMV this week tote him registered because the temp plate ran out 12/26. Not that I'm going much of anywhere with him right now, but the next time we have a warm day, he and I are surely going out for a spin!

How's your gaming going?

Oh! Do you have the awful cold/flu thing? We've had that here for almost 3 weeks now! It started with a sore throat, then descended into pneumonia for DH, and an infection for me. We were all SOOO exhausted, just laying around, rarely leaving the house. Even our town doctor had it for 3 weeks. Just go and get some antibiotics now, because this one is nasty and seems to bring secondary infections with it. Ramen soup and hot chocolate are the thing. DD rarely gets sick, she's heavy into daily vitamins and C's and it still got her. We didn't go to our monthly PCA meeting because it's mostly older people, and I think we would have laid waste to the room if we brought this plague in with us.

I'm not any better at the car racing thing, but DH and DD are oddly good at it, winning a lot.

Do you ever watch Top Gear? Or check out some of their Top Gear Porsche videos on youtube, the presenters are all huge Porsche fans.

I wasn't able to get an exact poster of DH's car, but I did get him a Carrera coupe poster from his year. He has a cabriolet with a hardtop, so close enough, color was right. It looks nice on the wall.

Try to feel better, DeeJay! It's miserable, and just hangs on. I'm starting to wonder if all these flu shots are just mutating all these strains and making them worse. ::)

DeeJay! You still alive? Or did this nasty cold/flu/plague thing get you? :?

I am alive...but absolutely exhausted. I had dinner with a friend who's in town just for the night and it was all I could do to stay awake through the meal...

My Chicago boyfriend came down to take care of me...and within 24 hours he had it too. Ack.

I appreciate you checking up on me, and I promise to be more lively ASAP!

I want a Chicago boyfriend! :P How come I don't have a Chicago boyfriend?

Ugh, it sounds like you have the flu monster. It will knock you out for three solid weeks. I kept thinking I was better, I'd go out for a half hour, then I'd have to lay on the couch for two days. It was awful. I'm still not my old, full-tilt self, and it's been over for a week. And I DON'T get sick. I usually power through, but this thing knocked me out. :knockout:

Be careful of secondary infections; bronchitis, pneumonia, respiratory infection. Have you been to a doctor?

Oddly, what seems to help is eating protein. Burgers, steak, masses of beef. It seems to help with the energy, caffeine and sugar didn't work for me like they usually do. And tons of ramen soup, and hot chocolate. Do you have somebody that can bring you that stuff? Some small grocery stores deliver, do you have that there?

Eeesch, now I'm worried about you . . . :|
