Calling all Jubilee Experts

How much more should I expect to pay for a 2 carat Jubliee cut diamond than for a modified cushion brilliant of the same carat, color, and clarity?

As between a Jubilee and a very sqaure cushion cut, which will look more (a) antique and (b) square?

i know it! : D but GOG does have one or two at least close to that size on its website right now.

im willing to wait for the right stone to come along . . .but i get a feeling that the jubilee is going to be out of my price range in that size.

There was a picture here of the hope (I think) cushion next to the jubilee....I can't seem to find it. I think that the cushion may look more antique...which is more square...I think maybe the jubilee...I'd have to see the comparison again....Have you thought about the regent?

yes, and that too. i thought that jubilee was more square, but i could be wrong.

here i was all set on a sqaure cushion and then i see all of these other amazing squarish cuts!!! i assume that they'll be pricier, but maybe worth it.

Do a search for TRex78 if you want to see a Jubliee next to a "Hope" square cushion. He's the one who first posted pictures of it.

Actually--add the Queen of Hearts to that inquiry! It's gorgeous. How do all of these stones compare price-wise?

The Queen is amazing!!! Jonathan had posted the jub next to the queens and regent a while back...the Queen def looked the most square...I love it...my husband did note that it looked the darkest in the center...but that could all be lighting! I don't think GOG stocks many Queens...but he can get them upon inquiry!

Talk to Jonathan at GOG. He's got all the cuts you mentioned plus a few more squarish cuts that you haven't listed...Flanders, Regent, Radiant, Octagon, ISee2 square, etc..

Yes, I've already been bugging Jonathan for some time now so I'll just add this to my list!

I imagine that the Queen and the Jubilee are going to be substantially more expensive than a cushion, but if they are truly that much more brilliant I think I'd consider going down some on size to be able to get one.

Well, I think that Hope cushion is more than all of them. A generic cushion is MUCH cheaper, but doesn't have the optics. I gave up on a 1.9 G Si1 jubilee

I believe that they are all fairly similar in $/carat. As for what that is, it's about the same $/carat or slightly more than a well cut H&A round. The Hope is typically deeper than the Jubilee, so for the same spread, the Hope is a little more. Availbililty on QoH and Regent may be better than Jubille, but I understand a new shipment has come in.




MMM, why did you give up on the Jube?
