CAD approval questions

I just wanted to ask those who have done custom before, is it typical for a vendor to go ahead and make the ring without your final approval? also is it possible for them to make a complete ring in 2 days?

2 days? Is it just casting and setting stones? Any shank engraving? millegraine? other details?
From the jewelers I have dealt with, they wait for CAD approval to proceed.

this is just for the casting and I think the polishing.

No. They should wait for your approval.

And they can START the process in 2 days. They could cast it and start the finishing process depending on their other work loads.

But they should never start without your approval.

Be VERY firm if they have done this. NOT ACCEPTABLE. And they will have to scrap and re-cast later.
