I have been looking at engagement rings online through Blue Nile, James Allen, etc. I am from Australia and the quality and price is much better to buy from these retailers. I have a budget of only $2500 usd which I know won’t get me far but looking for a quality diamond that will have its own sparkle, not a big diamond. My preference for setting is solitaire which I know may look underwhelming with a small diamond and a simple round diamond.

Can you help me with any diamond suggestions? Or ring settings?

This stone is at the top of your budget with the wire price but it is a .64 ACA super ideal cut stone, H color, VS2 clarity. This vendor has a great trade in policy should you ever choose to use it with no restrictions other than to choose another stone that is at least $1 more in price. Set in a simple solitaire setting this stone would be a sparkler for sure!

Set in this four prong setting and you are just a bit above your budget https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...ffany-style-solitaire-engagement-ring-587.htm

Really like the one posted by @MissGotRocks. Saw some others on WF I liked too, but that was the best size, color & clarity combo IMO.

Like the G color, AGS000 super ideal diamond, small table (54) and great angle combo (34.7/40.7). Not to mention 76 LGF so arrows will be a little fat too. Cert looks clean too, although I don't think BGD sells anything that isn't eye clean. This is a new stone. If interested, call Lesley and ask her to post everything (ASET, H&A, idealscope, etc).

A gorgeous one from HPD as well.

Great color. A few hundred cheaper. I'm concerned with it being eye clean. But wanted to toss up a JA option. For this size & price range I don't see a massive price advantage by eliminating a super ideal.

Hi fellow Aussie.
The diamond gurus here will definately find you best value and diamond for your money. Much better than any Aussie retailer will have.
Don’t forget that you will have to pay GST of 10% upon importation. There is another 5% customs tax normally payable upon importation but if buying from the US, new and US made, that is waived due to the Aust /USA free trade agreement,

Some amazing looking rocks everyone! I do like the setting and rock @MissGotRocks posted. A big help having other people with an idea what they’re looking at. Much better then all the ones I’ve looked at

Hi Gc_Australia

I think a solitaire is a great way to make your diamond the centre of attention. Perhaps look at designs with a slight taper on the shank so that the ring naturally draws your focus to the diamond.

When looking for stone options I would definitely concentrate on cut quality as this is what will give your stone life. In small sizes, especially, the best cut-quality can promote edge to edge brightness which will make the diamond look larger than others of the same size.

Good Luck on your quest, you have come to the perfect place.

I've not had a chance to check out the suggestions but I definitely agree with Durham Rose - edge to edge brightness makes the other half's 0.67 CBI look considerably more substantial than it sounds!
