I live in Dubai. Just over two weeks ago, I discovered a jeweller selling AGS Ideal cut diamonds, among other certified diamonds and jewellery pieces. I was very excited to find the AGS diamonds since I determined to buy an AGS Ideal. The jewellers have 6 AGS Ideals and they are loose stones (not sealed). They showed me the diamonds and the copies of the certs. I asked them how to be certain that the diamond which I am going to buy is what it says on the cert. So, the jeweller started to measure the weight of the diamond, took its measurements (height and diameter) and that was it. Here''s the problem: I thought that was very brief, since I know that the most important thing for them to prove to me is the diamond''s table width, crown angle, girdle and pav depth (which is what I''ll be paying for the AGS Ideal. If I am not bothered about these measurements, I would buy a sealed certified diamond (for eg HRD) and would pay less as well!)
What is the best thing for me to do? I haven''t asked about their return policy (I doubt that they offer full refund, cooling off period etc).
BTW, I found a jeweller selling Hearts On Fire here. Is USD 13,000 "normal" for 1.00 HOF H VS2? I thought that was rather pricey.
