I have been working in South Africa and decided to get engaged. After much discussion with my GF we settled on an Emerald or Asscher cut and around 0.8.
I nearly bought an Emerald before speaking with her but realized I didn't have all the details I needed like size etc so we shopped together and saw a few Emerald cuts and around 0.8 seemed a nice size.
I thought it would be easy in the diamond capital of the world but can't get an Asscher anywhere here. I have seen a 1ct H VS2 but I didn't like the mount. A guy in the UK has sourced a D VS2 0.8 GIA stone but I will not be able to get to see it.
Can anyone offer any advice on a solitaire Asscher, what I should be paying so I don't get ripped off.
