Buying a setting for 3 stone rings

First, let me say I''m new to this and I think that this site is wonderful and very helpful. I have definitely decided to do the online e-ring purchase.

So, my girlfriend desires a 3 stone e-ring. I know approxiametly what I want in regards to the diamonds.
As for the setting, I was wondering how many people buy the setting from the same online site that they get the diamonds? I''ve noticed that many of the on-line sites don''t have a large selection of settings on their sites. Can the on-line sites provide alternate setting designs that they don''t have posted? I guess what I would ultimately desire is to be able to purchase the diamonds and the setting from the same site, but I keep finding settings and stones that I like at different locations.

Some of the online sites will make a ring to your specifications. What type of 3-stone ring do you like? It seems like most sites carry a traditional 3-stone basket setting as well as a "truffle" style setting. I know that SuperbCert carries the Vatche line of settings but they also have their own version of a 3-stone ring and were willing to make up one for me when I got my 3-stone ring from them. I ended up going with the Vatche setting. I know that Whiteflash also will make up a setting for you. Aljdewey's beautiful 3-stone ring was made by them according to what she wanted.

Thanks for the feedback. My girlfriend pointed out some traditional settings that she liked from the designer Scott Kay, so I'm trying to find some sites that would have something similar. Three round stones, platinum setting. Just trying to figure out my options, I realize that getting a custom setting will be a lot more expensive.

i don't think that this is necessarily true; depending on what you're looking for, a custom setting certainly can be less expensive than an designer setting.

Agreed. It can be much less than designer.
