I''ve learned so much from these boards, about diamonds, settings, and jewelers. Thanks to everyone who posts here!
I wanted to post here to give some ease to people buying stones on-line, but to also let people know that designer settings and working with the designers themselves can be a hassle!
I found an awesome stone online, and was very happy with the price. I pruchased it from DB0F. I think that they, as many other places, offer great service for the online shopper. I think I got much more info and help from the many emails and phone-calls than any B&M could offer.
I went with a designer setting, that we had customized with a euroshank. The ring ran into a few snags with the time to get made, but I had time to spare before the proposal, so I wasn''t worried at all. After the proposal, I was put in contact with the ring designer since it was best that they resize it due to the euroshank modifcation and being able to stamp the ring again. The designer too way too long, and I had to follow up with them on a few occasions. I did contact DB0F, and they started following up for me as well. Later, DB0F did take care of me by covering my shipping costs and sending a new ring box (the desinger lost the one sent them the ring in).
I''ll be contacting the designer to let them know about how I feel about their service, and I will post the story here too. I believe it is right to let them know first.
