I just bought two rings and I think I might have paid too much for both of them... here''s the first one.
I paid $500.

SPECS:
0.6 ct VS1-2 G-H round diamonds.
2.9 grams of white gold

Please tell me what you think... Do you like the ring? Did I pay too much?

This is the second ring I bought...It''s yellow gold, green amethyst, and diamonds.
I bought it for $450, did I pay too much?

2.68 grams gold
.37 ct VS1-2 G-H diamonds
1.35 green amethyst center stone

Depends on where you bought them.

Depends on where you bought them.

I bought them online, but I''m not sure if that makes much of a difference, I just want to know if I paid a fair price for what I bought, was it worth the money I paid for it?

Both of those rings are beautiful; both have good color/clarity in their diamonds; from appearances they look more expensive than what you paid. Retail wise, they are a bit lower in price than what I have seen. Whether you could have gotten similar rings for less . . . . I don''t know.

They were not ''expensive'' as good jewelry goes, why not enjoy them? They look quite lovely.

Sorry, I don''t know if that was a good value for the rings, i just wanted to say those are absolutley gorgeous!!
I would be very happy to be able to wear them!

They''re very pretty and the prices don''t seem crazy. If you''re really concerned, have them appraised. It might be worth the cost of appraisal for your peace of mind.

I''m no expert, but the prices sound ''reasonable'' and the rings are fun! Congrats!

Ditto to Rubybeth. They''re beautiful!

If the specs (ct weight, colour, clarity) match what you were told, then you''ve done fine.
If not, its a whole ''nother issue.
I second having them appraised. But try to use an appraiser thats independent, as in doesn''t sell jewellery.

Ms. Claudia, they are both GORGEOUS!!! Personally, I think you got a pretty good deal on both of them!

The reason I feel like I might''ve overpaid is because someone in the Colored Stones forum said I got ripped off on the green amethyst ring, apparently green amethysts are pretty worthless. But anywho, I like the color of the green amethyst so I don''t mind that it''s worthless, I just don''t want to feel like I overpaid... I paid less than half of what the "sticker" price was but I feel like people who sell jewelry always over-inflate their sticker prices to give them room to give discounts

Well, I don''t know very much about colored stones, so it might be true that the green amethyst isn''t worth very much. But, even if that is the case, I would think the setting alone would be worth the $450 you paid, plus! It''s a BEAUTIFUL setting, and I wouldn''t be surprised at all to find similar settings on PS vendors'' websites for much more than $450!

If you bought it for the stone, yes you overpaid. If you bought it mostly for the setting than the question is only whether you would pay that much for basically the setting alone. If the answer is yes you didn''t get ripped off. If you thought most of the price was due to the stone...then that is a different issue.

I think they are gorgeous!

I get hung up on prices myself, so I understand that uneasy "did I pay too much?" feeling. I think that getting an appraisal is a good idea if it will ease your mind. I would just suggest enjoying them, though. I feel like the prices were good and the quality of the settings seem very nice. Enjoy!

I thinnk your rings are pretty, especially the setting that your green amethyst is in. It''s lovely. I don''t know about the value of the green amethyst, but as others pointed out, the ring it self is worth the $$ that you spent on it.

Enjoy wearing it.

Get it appraised if you are curious. Otherwise, they are lovely, enjoy!

I think they are both beautiful. I''m not an expert at knowing jewelry prices but I wouldn''t worry about it. Now if you came on here and said you paid 1,000 for each then I would say yes but they are lovely pieces. I have seen many rings like this in the Navy Exchange. for the diamond ring your price sounds about right or maybe even a little low and for the blue stone ring, once again... sounds about right

Have you received them yet? Your photos look like stock photos, which (depending on the store) can sometimes look better than how the pieces look in person. Hopefully in person they look just as pretty?

Honestly, though, it all comes down to whether or not they make you happy. If you love them, then they're worth it.

It''s not just the price of the green stone, it''s all the metal and work that went into each piece. I own a wedding band and the diamonds in it are small and worthless, but the metal work on it is beautiful. It''s the entire package that makes the price!

I think your ring are pretty. The colours in the second one are nice. It''s only too much if you didn''t get what you wanted or the pieces weren''t as stated.

I am not an expert, but I would have guess a much higher price for the rings. IMHO, both rings are very pretty - I especially adore the second setting

Can I see some hand shots, please?

I don''t know what they''re worth but I think both are just gorgeous!

I would have guessed you spent much more!

, I''m dying to find out what you get I''m sure you''ll post pics

) and everyone else on here for their input..

I didn''t buy the ring for the stone or the setting, I bought it for the pretty design of the ring itself, the setting and the stone complement eachother so well... I guess my only issue is that I don''t want to be shopping or browsing one day and see an identical ring for half of what I paid.

I guess I won''t really know how I feel until the ring gets here and I slip it onto my finger, will it be disappointment or one of those "magic moments" (you jewelry lovers know what I mean by the magic moment hehe... that moment where your eyes grow bigger, your face lights up, and your breath gets taken away) that''s the true dilemma of online shopping ain''t it ladies?

I think they are very pretty and the price sounds right. Stop worrying and enjoy

Both rings are very pretty! I think the first one was a GREAT deal. . .I''m not sure about the Amethyst one because I don''t know much about colored stones.

Enjoy your rings.

Ditto to what kindred said -- they are both beautiful and I would have thought you paid more. Enjoy them!
