On my quest, I''ve now learned the distinctions between AGS, GIA, EGL, IGI, etc. I see that the info on AGS is much better in finding the right cut, and I have removed the brainwashing that says it must be VS to be good. VS, BS....I''ve seen SI diamonds on some of these sites which are way nicer than some of the VS1''s I''ve looked at. Here''s the problem:

After all this, I''m now fixated on finding the most outrageously brilliant, retinal burning, ''solar eclipse on a finger'' rock I can. Only the goodoldgold website has spoiled me, and I''m copmletely obsessed with the brilliant scope images. No one else has this on their sites, and I need a little more selection. With all the info they provide, it makes the other companies seem like you''re buying sight-unseen.

Any ideas?

To be fair, SuperbCert also provides BrilianceScope images on their stones.

But yes, the more information, the easier it is to make a decision without having to call and ask for more information. I would pay a little more for the convenience of seeing as much as you can about the stone just by looking online.

Actually, there are many posts about the BScope....some vendors chose not to use it...I think it's good to know but not to rely on the BScope alone...Also, I'm not really sure the eye can really see a huge difference from a solid good over a decent very high....Maybe I'm wrong...But like you, I've chosen to go with GOG!!!

I also like the sarin and .gem files on Jonathan's website.

You're totally right. I checked out the link you sent and their stuff is awesome too! It's industry vacation right now, which is making me a nervous wreck, since I can't get anything wrapped up.

I raised my price a bit, and found this one.... 1.07 G Si1

only thing I see would be the 41.0 pavillion angle, rest looks alright, but I'm still a newbie here, so your expertise would be appreciated.

ps: do we get a PS discount? how much?

I looked at Superbcert and they're great, but why aren't they listed as a vendor on PS? anyone have any experience with them?

I bought my diamond (and ring) from Superbcert and had a very good experience. If you do a search on their name, you'll read several people's experiences with them.

I know that Barry (Superbcert's owner) used to post here but doesn't any more. He posts over DiamondTalk. I don't know if that is why he's not listed with the vendors listed here.

Whitebrain, Superbcert does not discount their diamonds. The price you see is the price you pay.

Many of the Superbcerts have a 41 degree pavillion angle. I don't think that is a bad thing since their stones are gorgeous.

get_cut_not_ripped,

You might want to check out some other PS vendors before you get ripped..
I did a quick search and found these from DiamondIeals .com

1.000 G VS2 BR IDEAL IDEAL H&A $6,336.00 S246924
1.064 G SI1 BR IDEAL IDEAL H&A $5,524.29 S249120

You can almost get a VS2 for Superbcerts SI1. and these have better numbers.
There are other stones on the search by cut pages as well.

Just my .02

good luck on your diamond search.

I looked at those two also, and they look good too.

Any others have feedback about the G Si1? It looks really promising to me????? Can someone please look at the #'s, since the pavilion was 41.0, not the 40.8 that everyone seems to look for
