So i asked all of my bridesmaids what dress they liked the best out of a few of was debating from. This turned out to big mistake because each one picked a different dress

So now ive narrowed it down to two choices, one is to have all four of them wear the same dress and the other is to mix it up and do two and two. Im just not sure which look i like better with my dress so Im hoping that you can all help me out!

If everyone likes different dresses, could you just let each one chose the one they like as long as they are the same color? Then decide how to arrange them from there.

I second Erica's suggestion. I really like the look of different dresses in the same color. It might be a little less formal, since it's less uniform...
But if I were to choose from among the options you've given, I would go with 2 and 2. Some people feel really uncomfortable in strapless, to the point of not wanting to dance or have fun, so they might like that option, and some people hate anything but strapless.

I agree.

Thritto! Or however that''s spelled!

Probably depends on how formal the wedding is. For a very formal wedding, I'd stick with uniform dresses. I certainly like them all in the straps rather than all in the strapless...it's a little more of a bold look that's set apart from your dress. Very cool.

I think there's a lot to be said for them each wearing a different dress...so I wouldn't say what you did originally was a mistake at all! You might want to give it a chance if you're wedding's not super-formal. I'll give you an example of what I did with my bridesmaids...I let all my 4 girls pick their own dresses, provided they were all tea-length satin and the "celadon" color at Alfred Angelo. Within those constraints, neckline and shape didn't matter. I wanted them to be comfortable in whatever they were wearing, and especially to be able to wear it again if they wanted to. I actually went shopping with each of the 3 bridesmaids that are local to me (the last one lives on the "wrong" coast, so she was on her own). They ended up with an A-line tank dress with a small bow and brooch at the waist, a strapless sheath with an empire waist and a larger bow detail, a tie-strap halter sheath with a ruched bodice, and a 2-piece with beaded spaghetti straps and a full A-line skirt. So all were VERY different, but they look great together! Anyway, I digress...it sounds like that's not what you're interested in doing, but it really is a cool, fresh look.

Alternatively, you could give each girl the choice of straps or strapless, but the problem is that you might end up with 3 and 1 instead of 2 and 2 (or all 4 unanimously). And unless the 1 is the maid of honor, I wouldn't go for 3 and 1. But 2 and 2 is kinda cool as shown. Maybe ask what their preference is, and if it ends up being a nice combination (all 4 same, 2 and 2, or MOH different and others same), go with it. If not, you're back to square one.

Also, I think the tank dress is more wearable afterward than the strapless, if that's a consideration! If I were one of your bridesmaids, I'd pick that one over the strapless, hands-down.

I love those dresses.

I originally wanted my girls in non-matchy dresses, but they are going to be in the same one now because they were all drawn to it. Thank goodness they''ll each have their own hairstyle, jewelry, and shoes. I want them to look like themselves, not clones of each other.

Those two dresses complement each other really well. I think they''d look great together

Philly - Great dresses! I, too, like the idea of the bm''s all wearing the same color but different styles.
This is what my cousin did for her wedding ... We each had to select a dress - same length, same material, same color but we could pick whichever style, within those parameters, we liked best. The uniformed but non-matchy look was a big hit. It looked really great.

I really love that color!!

Are you warming up to the idea or mixing them all up yet?

or, based on the theme, formality of your wedding do you have a preference for them to all wear the same dress for a reason?

I agree.

I agree too.

What about having the MOH have a different dress than the bridesmaids?
that is what i did and they love it. I wanted my MOH to stand out.
I love all the dresses you picked - just throwing the idea out there. good luck!
