I am drawn to the classic beauty of a 5 stone ring and knew I’d be adding one to my collection. After lots of research and looking at pics, I decided on the Sally band. I knew I wanted platinum, but at my finger size (4.75 is roomy), I was struggling to pick stone size. Working with Emily at BGD, she suggested 20 pointers would give great coverage. I took her advice and began the anxious wait to get my ring... BUT, I wasn’t settled on the carat size so 1 week later I reached out. My ring had yet to be crafted (thank goodness!). Emily was super understanding when I explained that I needed to mentally be at a minimum of .25 carat per stone. She found me some new stones that were E-F color, VS-SI1 clarity, .25-.26 carat. I thought, phew, now I feel better. But, I was keeping my eye on their site hoping new diamonds would pop on. I really wanted a more consistent color and clarity. My persistence paid off! Again, I contacted Emily when I saw a fresh batch of diamonds. I switched out 4 of my F stones to 4 E stones, ranging in VVS2-VS2. Emily was so helpful and accommodating along the way! She made my experience of achieving exactly what I wanted in an heirloom piece of jewelry as smooth as possible. This is my first experience with Brian Gavin Diamonds and I would recommend them in a heartbeat! The stones are gorgeous and the ring is glamorous! The knife edge is very comfortable. I am in love with this ring!! If you’ve made it this far in my ramblings, your patience paid off. First pics are the BGD photos and then my own.

I took a leap of faith on this! I have never even tried on a knife edge band, but felt it looked sooo elegant. There isn’t much info here on this particular band, so I wanted to add my experience to help someone else.

Really beautiful! I am SO glad you told her to change to .25 diamonds! That is a much better size for a 5 stone band!

That is a beautiful, classic 5-stone! It looks great in the pictures and I bet those E stones are even more beautiful in person.

Congrats MaMa! , Beautiful ring! . My wife wear the same ring with .25ct F/G VS ACA stones (1.27 tcw) on a shared prong setting. Brian hand picked the stones for me when he was still with WF.

@Dancing Fire, your info in the threads regarding your wife’s ring was a big reason for landing at the same size. There are a lot of opinions of perfect carat size on here and purchasing online can be challenging... I figured it was a good decision to follow the advice of a “long timer”. So, thank you!

Wow, totally classic and elegant. Thanks for sharing, this is super helpful because we are the same finger size and I too have been mulling over .20 vs .25!

Congratulations! It's a beautiful classic piece that will go with anything. I think you'll get lots of wear of out it. And BGD did such a beautiful job. The setting is so swoopy and graceful.
