fireblossom?

nah, that's not it... I know this stone though and now its bugging me.... not a spiral sun... let me think...

I know what you''re talking about, but I can''t find it. Sun something? Sol something?

thanks, spirit sun is the right idea, but the pavilion is faceted differently. Simiiar to www.iceflower.be but again close, not the exact one I''m looking for.

that''s what my friend has - an iceflower! I thought they were the same, those and the spirit sun - how are they different? I don''t know of any other than those.... curious though! do you by chance mean a context cut?

it very well could be the same cut, it looks pretty similiar? I guess the one I''m thinking of is more like a rose cut on the top; not single long facets... I''m not sure what a context cut is? I''ll google it.

It is a square cut..., not round.

not the context cut either..

Is it the Lion Cut?

HERE is a diamond dictionary of sorts which lists all kinds of odd cuts. HTH.

Or the Spirit Of Flanders cut

From the page neatfreak linked to:

Sunburst
The Sunburst cut is a round stone with 81 facets on the crown and 64 facets on the pavilion, making the total of 145 facets. The high refractive index of the colorless rough enhances the fiery flashes of the spectrum of light reflection. It looks just like a sun is bursting inside the stone.

Maybe this is what I was thinking of, but I can''t find a better picture.
