Just purchased a diamond from Blue Nile. Part of their signature Round collection. Would have gone with a different vendor, but trust and solid track record were important.

Tried to go for a great cut above all us. Sacrificed a little on color and clarity
Scored a 1.2 on HCA. Excellent Fire / Excellent Scintillation/ Excellent Light Return/ Very Good Spread. I do not have a trained eye so its hard for me to tell.

$6,000
Shape: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 6.49x6.52x3.95
Cut Grade AGS Ideal 0
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Proportions: Ideal
Color Grade: AGS 1.5 G
Clarity Grade: AGS 5 S1
Table: 56 %
Depth: 60.7%

Girdle 1.1 to 1.8%

Will you please tell me if I got a good deal? Plus, is this a really good stone or what? A little deep, but still good? Hows this puppy gonna look in a platinum setting. Please excuse my ignorance.

From the numbers, it should be a beautiful diamond! I don''t know about the price...You can do a search here for comparable stones, but the stone should be gorgeous and would be great in platinum! It does not appear to be deep according to the numbers.

You don''t have to start worrying about too deep of a cut until you get over 62.3%. All of your numbers look good and HCA score of 1.2 should give you a beautiful diamond. Your numbers are within the ideal cut ranges.

The G color should look great in platinum. I''ve seen some I stones here on PS in platinum that looked great! Generally people will tell you to stick to E-H for platinum settings though. I have an ideal cut H and it faces up very white. With a good cut like yours a G will be no problem (stones with excellent cuts show less color)

Do a search for similar diamonds here on pricescope and you will see some less expensive stones with similar specs. Bluenile prices are slightly higher than what you will see here. (FYI-My ring is from Bluenile aswell and I am very happy with it.)

Congrats!

looks incrediible--prices with BN maye be a a little more but their grading seems pretty good

Big company, big price and not too much person to person chat...

Track record or no track record - of course a smaller shop would not have the kind of traffic as BN has.

But then, BN lists a bunch of 1 carat G/SI AGS0 with AGS0 cut grades and about 1k less. What does the BN signature add to the AGS Ideal cut grade? Aside the 1k, of course ? There should be some explanation, just none I know of

Here''s the exibit: 1.01 G/SI AGS0 5k
