Bought a new stone! Blue spinel from BB

Okay, I know that I really SHOULD be saving money to set all my other stones, but I couldn''t help it - I''ve wanted a blue-purple spinel since I saw Freke''s, and Barry happened to have one....so this is what I bought!

It has a bit of a gray modifier, but I''m fine with that, and I really wanted one with a color change. I think he''s shipping it out tomorrow, so when it''s here, I''ll have to do a photoshoot with it and my mom''s new amethyst (also one of Barry''s).

I''m really excited - with the other two stones I''ve bought from Barry, I''ve found his pictures to be pretty true to what the stone actually looks like, so I''m really looking forward to seeing it! For this one, I''m thinking a white gold trellis setting... my jeweler is actually pricing a setting that I saw yesterday for me in white gold

Oh, that is a beauty. I only have baby versions of stones that are cut like that, but the sparkle so much I want a bigger on now .

That spinel is gorgeous. It looks blue in the first picture, than purple... or maybe it''s my monitor. The stone just glows, WOW!!

Mochi, not your monitor - it''s a color-changer. I''ve never had one before (or a spinel actually). I hope my pictures will do it justice when it arrives - I have complete faith in Barry''s stones so I''m sure it''ll be beautiful
