Blue Oval Zircon Ring

I bought this JD blue oval Zircon a few years ago, and finally got round to setting it.


The spec of the stone is in my ring spec to be made:


First CAD with prongs and millgrains, and the diamonds looked too small:



Second CAD with bezel set main stone, diamonds still too small, millgtains still present, and the gallery was too dull for my liking.



A few more emails with some fancy gallery pics for inspiration later, a third CAD was received, with bigger diamonds, no millgrain and a fancier gallery. CAD approved!



Hopefully I shall have it soon. More pics to follow.

Finished ring pics from the jeweller who made the ring for me.
Apart from the two "leaves" on the sides that looked more like the face of a cat, which is kind of cute to me, it looks fine.

I think I would opt for some engraving to be done so that it's more leaf-like and less cat face. Regardless, this is a great zircon in an elegantly designed ring. Congratulations!

I can't remember how much I paid for the stone, however it cannot be that much being one of JD's auctions.

The setting was less than 400 USD.

Total cost is well under 1250 USD and it will be posted in that thread too.

No more stone setting for a while as I have some life-changing events on their way (changing job and starting to learn a new musical instrument).

The bezel may not be the best, however the setting cost me less than 400 USD, so I cannot complain!

Nice inexpensive ring for daily wear added to my collection.
