Whas everybodies opinion on Blue Nile?? Do they have retail stores?? If not do you just have to make all of your decisions based on their website and phone calls?? THis cant be correct???? Thanks

Yup that''s how it works. They might still have a store in seattle. They have 30 day no question ask money back (right now its a 30 day or untill jan 15th, which ever is longer)

also there is a lot of $100 coupons codes or 10% the setting coupons online. make sure you use one.

Blue Nile is one of about a dozen largly internet sales based operations. All with fairly good reputations. In all cases I do believe that all of these companies do have a public showroom/store at their home address. However, they tend to do the vast quantity of their business over the internet or by phone - which is a new trend in shopping in general.

My one comment on these vendors - there are a variety of markups and almost all the diamonds you look at are not owned by these vendors (there are few vendors who own all the diamonds listed - but only list a hundred or so diamonds). So the "50,000 +" diamonds that Blue Nile offers are "Virtual" inventory. It is often possible to find the exact same diamond at another vendors site with a different markup (price). Thus, if you want a quick package from a reputable vendor - use Blue Nile, or one of the other vendors. However, if you have the time to shop you can usually get a better price.

In addition, this site tends to educate people on high quality cut diamonds - that are brilliant in normal lighting situations - and provides some simple educational tools on how to determine if you have a great diamond versus just an ordinary diamond. I suggest that if you have the time that you go through the tutorial and learn. Following the forum for a while also helps.

If you truely want a great looking diamond up front without any quetions and without any serching I suggest Good Old Gold and NiceIce whom you can link through on this site. I believe that there prices will be on par with Blue Nile and they only stock the best of the best. If you have time to learn and shop, then there are about 6 other sites that can help you at usually a slighly lower cost.

Hope this helps.
