I took your advice and looked at sites listed on here and at Blue Nile I found this,

Carat weight: 0.48
Cut: Very Good
Color: I
Clarity: SI2
Depth %: 62.9%
Table %: 57%
Symmetry: Good
Polish: Good
Girdle: Medium to thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 4.96x5.00x3.13 mm
total $892 platinum GIA certified

Am I getting a good deal? Please help,

Is it a clean eye. No matter where you buy your diamonds at always make sure that it's clean eye if it's a SI clarity.

I have the BN pre-set .25 diamond pendant and it is gorgeous with no visible inclusions.

For about the same price, this could be a top ideal brilliant of the same grade. The 0.48cts is what makes it tricky, but the size of the stone makes me beliave that the look can be matched with a an ideal cut stone of lesser weight. A 0.42cts I-Si2 H&A is listed for a tad less than $600.

And there is THIS I-VS2.

All in all, the price does not seem like an out of this world bargain. What is the pendant like? A sophisticated setting may just tilt the balance againt an ideal cut - is it the case?
