my question is do I go bigger and better, but I also want quality too. I researched on a ideal/fine cut diamonds and what they are suppose to be averaged by and the .55 was off the chart while the .48 was considered fine cut and had more numbers right on. I got the ideal chart from
http://www.drostes.com/newround.html

ideal diamond/vert fine cut diamond
59-63% 59-63% TD
52.4-57.5% 51.4-62% Table
Thin-Medium Very Thin-Thick girdle
None-Medium None-Medium cutlet
Excellent-VG Excellent-Good polish
Excellent-VG Excellent-Good symmetry
None-Faint None-Faint flourescense

Basically its a $100 difference to quantity or stay with quality.

PLEASE HELP!

Check out the charts at www.gemappraisers.com (go to the DIY link on the left). Also, have you tried plugging the #s in to the HCA? (link to that is under cut adviser at the top of the page.

#1 is going to be a dog - 65% depth!!!!!

#2 stands a chance, but I'd rather see a bit less depth and less thickness on the girdle. You really need all the numbers to make a final choice, though.

That is all the numbers Blue Nile gave to me. I've searched all the sites that are linked to this site. These are the only 2 that are in my budget and of price. My bf gave me a $1000 limit, I was thinking more of the .48 because theres no where your also going to get a platinum and certified .5 almost pendant anywhere else. Is this worth buying? I've checked retail stores, there was one at cresent jewelers that was regularly priced at $2,020 and quoted me only $909 for it. but it wasnt certified and only 18k white gold. Would that be best. But then again theres not numbers, its just a ring.

This sounds perfectly feasible with not much loss anywhere -

Looking for a 5mm round looking white, clean and sparkly in a simple WG pendant may well inlcude THIS I-VS2 or THIS if SI2 sounds good to you. According to the plot, most of what makes the clarity grade does not show face up.

I do not see a price for setting a pendant at DCD, but it can't be all that much.

And... there is the "Expert Selection" at WF with at least three AGS0 piece you might be interested in. For example this 0.55 G-SI2 (LINK). Of maybe F-VS2 does it?

All these are about 5mm and seem to have very good cutting, as far as PS standards go. No idea why the cost of setting pendants is nowhere to be found - but there muct be a good amount of refference about these sellers around here.
