Usually I wear these:

I like them but they are a bit snug on the calves and sometimes can give me calf cramps.

I have a very bad back so my needs in pants (& leggings) are specific. The material has to be soft (no Hanes, which are scratchy, imo), no wide or fold over waistband. I don't want the boot cut yoga pants VS makes (which are beautiful though) because of the foldover waistband and snugger fit in the pelvis area. Any suggestions? I really can't just go out and try things on as I deal with too much pain to shop like that. So, I'm wondering if you know of any that might work.

Oh, and I'm fairly thin and actually have thin calves. I stretch out the calves of the ones I have after I wash them but it does not help much.

Thanks dear friends.

I'm 5'6", if that matters. My cursor was not behaving to let me add that to the above post. (I wonder what is going on with the cursor, travels when I try to set it down in a specific area, Nexus tablet.)

Are you looking for leggings for yoga/workouts or street wear or do you use them for both? (I do this - and I frankly consider it a step up from yoga pants.) I'm thin, but tall (5'9"+) so length is commonly more my issue.

Here are my suggestions:
Sweaty Betty - their fabrics are so much softer and more refined than Lululemon.
James Pearse - Yosemite has some very comfy leggings - again softer fabric than standard.
I have some Lululemon & Athleta, but they are quite dense and maybe a little too restrictive if you can't tolerate an all over tight fit.
I tried JCrew, but they ran huge on me.

Have you tried Pure Body leggings from Gap? I love the entire pure body line. Great layering pieces that are supersoft and comfy. Shipping is free over $50 so you can buy to try on at home and return stuff that doesn't fit.

Both.

Thanks so very much, Harper & Babymonster. I'll give some of them a try! Much appreciated!

Updated: I bought the leggings that Baby Monster suggested from The Gap. OMG!! - huge thanks!! These blow away the ones I was wearing!!! Awesome!! I can't thank you enough.

I wanted to try some of the ones Harper suggested but I looked & they are really expensive. I'm sure they are great, though.

So glad they worked out for you :wavey:.

I am indebted to you for this, Babymonster!!

I'm dealing with a really bad back & so need easy to wear, comfortable clothes. My VS leggings, to me, squeezed my calves (which are kinda thin, btw) and were scratchy. But they were the most tolerable ones I found,
until . . . These are just soft, silky, perfectly cut, . . . heaven.

Thank you times a zillion.
(Ladies, ya'll need to try these.)

Aww, you're welcome :))

Did you try any of the tops? I pretty much live in pure body tees. I layer the long sleeve ones under wool sweaters, tank tops under everything else.

No. But, if you say so, then I must.

I adore these leggings.

I don't see why it's so hard for most clothes companies to get it right. Yes, I know they save a few pennies by buying the cheaper materials & all but what about retaining customers.
