Hello all,

Should I be worry about a ''small'' black feather at the center of the round brilliant diamond for a AGS graded VS2 stone?

Thanks!

Hi Zeiss,

I doubt you need to worry, what is the size of the diamond? Feathers are usually light coloured, I would ask the vendor if the feather is visible to the eye if it is located under the table to be on the safe side but you should be fine. Have you seen the diamond or is it with an online vendor?

is this a certed stone? Do you have a photo?

I think if its a certed VS2 then you should be fine, GIA has high standards....feathers are really really faint and you cannot see them to the naked eye most of the time.

If the feather is black, it is likely due to light reflecting off it at different angles. It's probably not actually black. I would not worry about it at all and makes your stone easy to confirm it is yours. This especially helps when you get repairs etc...

I just set the above diamond and the crystal in it looks black at certain angles. It is an AGS VS2 also... But it takes 2 seconds to pull out a loupe and identify the diamond :)
