I have decided to have her birthstone put inside the engagement ring as an added touch.
The jeweler I am using responded to me yesterday saying that the ruby is large enough that he wants to put it in the base of the crown. I assume this is so he doesn't have to drill a hole into the inside of the shank.
Has anyone seen this or had this done before? Does having the ruby below the diamond effect the light performance of the diamond? I just don't want the pretty white diamond to have a red hue to it.
Thanks!
