Bezel setting question

Does a bezel type setting lower the brilliance or fire of a diamond?

to simplify: an well cut diamond will gather and disperse light through the crown, and poorly cut diamond will not. If you have a well cut diamond, it should be fine in a bezel. If you have a poorly cut diamond you are better off with a setting that lets light in though as many angles as possible (and one that is easy to clean).

I love bezels. And I would bezel and ideal round in a heartbeat.
