What is the best way to clean pave and white gold jewelry?
I''ve been warned against ultrasonic and have read many things from windex to dish soap.
I''m thinking about getting a steam cleaner, please give me your input on steam cleaning, and other methods that you think are best.
Love all the golden nuggets (or should I say diamond nuggets

)of information I get on here.
Thanks guys!~

I don''t know what you would use on white gold however i have a pave platinum ring and I use dish soap windex and alcohol. Works great.

There''s lots of opinions, and favorite "recipes"

.

If you do a search for "cleaning", etc., you will get more than enough reading material to last you for an evening (or a weekend!). It''s a subject we have discussed many times.

Enjoy!

I read so many threads and I feel like there wasn''t a clear consensus on pave jewelry cleaning, many people raved about salton''s jewelry spa but that thread was 4 years ago and they don''t sell them anymore

My concerns are first, it''s white gold so nothing ammonia based should be used.

It''s pave/micropave so no ultra sonic... People really like the US for other pieces though.

I thought steam would be good but someone mentioned the possibility of the pressure knocking the stone loose.

I fear the toothbrush method bc it might scratch or thin the rhodium plating or white gold.

Any other suggestions?

My jeweller doesn''t think twice about steaming my micropave pieces, so I''m assuming that it''s ok.

Honestly, I put my pave pieces in the u/s. If the pave is well made it can handle it. I just don't do it everyday. If you don't know if you have high quality pave or not, or if the pieces are cheap and you know it isn't high quality, I probably wouldn't use an u/s on those pieces.

Everyday a baby toothbrush and dish soap is best and make sure to give it a really good rinse afterwards. NOTHING ammonia based with white gold, so no windex, but a baby toothbrush shouldn't scratch it off.

Maybe one of the jewelers will chime in, but I would think that steam might be safer than ultrasonic. I''d just dip it in jewelry cleaner first, rinse, and then steam.

For what it''s worth, Leon aka Mr. Micropave, steams such pieces.

I use a warm water, windex and dish soap cocktail

and scrub with a baby toothbrush once in a while.
