Hello pricescope!

i am in the process of purchasing a diamond (i am buying my stone in the jewelry district) and would like to ask all you diamond gurus where the BEST place is to have my ring setting done in LOS ANGELES. I don't have money coming out of my ears, but i am willing to pay what is necessary to have it done RIGHT!

I don't know much about settings, but i do want to get a very thin band (micro pave) with a halo around the cushion (maybe something akin to the harry winston setting?) I am pretty sure when it comes to setting the smaller stones in a micro pave manner on the band, certain stores will be better than others at doing this?

please help!

I have already spent a good amount of time looking for the stone i want, but i also realize all that work won't even matter if the final product doesn't look good. I want to make sure that the final product looks amazing!

What an exciting project!!!
Victor Canera is located in LA and he's fabulous. I live in Europe but I contacted him to make a setting with french cuts for me. He is great to work with. Very responsive and the quality of his work is amazing.

He just finished a beautiful Winston inspired ring for Soxfan:

Also, have a look at frankiextah's thread. She had the same ring made by 3 vendors. Her current ring is from Victor Canera. Steven Kirsch and Leon Mege are amazing as well! But they are located in NYC, so you would have to make it a distance project. Both Steven as well as Leon are used to that. I think they have a lot of international clients.

Here is Frankie's thread:

What type of setting do you want? If you want it made more affordably and done with CAD/CAST, a lot of people on another board really favor David Klass. He's located in 607 Hill St. Here's his Yelp page http://www.yelp.com/biz/david-klass-wholesale-jewelry-los-angeles and I don't think I'm allowed to link to photos of his work because of the site it's located on, but you can google "David Klass Photo Gallery". Unfortunately, he needs a new/better camera..

If you want it done hand made, I got my e-ring done at SN Queens, also located in 607 Hill St. I think their pave work is phenomenal for the price. They're more affordable than Single Stone and VC, but of course, I don't think they're used to strict and super picky requests like SS and VC. I think they thought I was absolutely crazy, lol. But they make their rings hand made and they are a more affordable hand forged provider.

Then, yes, there's Single Stone. I mean, THEY'RE SINGLE STONE. When I see their stuff, my heart skips a beat. However, their prices also reflect the immaculate works of art they do and the incredible detail they do.

Luckily, all 3 are located at 607 Hill St. David's located on the first floor, right behind the security desk. Why not go pay a visit to each one of them? David's not always there, so make an appointment. But SNQ and SS are both always open so you can go pay them a visit right after or before.
