Hello,

I am looking to buy a loose diamond (probably a princess, around a VS2, G or H) at a good price. I want to buy from a reputable internet diamond seller, since I expect that the internet sellers have the best prices. The diamond could be delivered to Buffalo, although I am in Canada.

Is there an internet dealer that has developed the reputation of having the best price and quality/reputation balance??

I''m not sure about all of the other vendors out there because I haven''t decided to buy a diamond from each one.

But.....I just bought a stone from Whiteflash and they were unbelievably helpful. No matter how many dumb question I felt I had, they answered all of them very nicely and stayed on the phone with me to discuss the diamond and just diamonds in general. I felt like they weren''t rushed at all. Like whatever I had to say was the most important thing at that moment. When I put the diamond on hold, it was before they even opened in the morning. In this case, they would normally only put it on hold for 24 hours. However, they told me that if I called the next day and wanted it to be held until the end of that day, they would have no problem doing that (diamond was on hold for 2 days).

I''ve heard than many of the other vendors on this site have good reputations but I would definitely look into Whiteflash if I were you. Good Luck and try no to go crazy looking for the PERFECT diamond.

Ditto on the WF love. They''re awesome.

You''ll also hear good things about Good Old Gold, and to a lesser extent, James Allen (lesser because their upgrade policy leaves a lot to be desired).

Another vote for Whiteflash from me... i''ve had excellent service from them - weither it was when i bought my stone, or just asking about the possiblity of having some custom work done.

2 of my friends have also had excellent service when they purchased stones for themselves for engagment rings... and we''re all in the UK - so no problem with the long distance shipping.

But for balance - while i have had no dealings with Good Old Gold, i would have no qualms buying from Jon - and has an excellent range

And also Wink Jones - had some dealings over another custom design i was after, and like Whiteflash he was extremely helpful, was just a pitty some personal things came up and i couldnt complete on it.

if you want to find out how much it would be have a diamond shipped you then i have signed up to FedEx''s site - that has a shipping coster - it will find the correct import duty code and apply that to the package, so you can get an idea of how much it will be in total to be shipped to you.

Or if your close enough, you could take a holiday trip over the border - this way you can take advantage of some of the dealers offer of free shipping within the US - and not pay an admin charge to FedEx for dealing with customs. tho if its like the UK you would need to declare the diamond on crossing the boarder.
