I am not here to promote anything just looking for some honest advice. For the past few days I have been trying to find the best diamond ring for my wedding but it is more difficult than I thought. There are so many options and every brand says theirs is the best so it is hard to know which one is actually worth it

I checked Reddit and Quora discussions and also read articles on Brilliant Earth Blue Nile James Allen and The Knot. Every site suggests different rings so now I am even more confused

After some research I have two options that seem popular online and also have many reviews on Amazon

IMOLOE Lab Grown Diamond Wedding Band

Sterling Silver Diamond Promise Engagement Ring

I care most about quality design and value for money. If anyone here has experience with either of these or can recommend others please share your thoughts. It will really help me make the right decision

Thanks a lot

Hi @mavoo

Welcome to Pricescope!

So we can help you better...
Are you looking for a wedding band or an engagement ring?

What is your budget?

Depending on your budget, this might be a better post for the lab forum, where budgets can stretch a little more.

Yes, you need to better define what kind of ring you are looking for as a wedding ring. Most engagement or wedding rings are fashioned out of gold or platinum; sterling silver tarnishes and would not be the ideal metal to make a ring to be worn for years and years.

Wedding band or engagement ring?
Is this for a male or female?

Between those two, I’d personally lean toward the lab-grown option. At least you know what you’re getting in terms of diamond quality and sparkle. The sterling silver one might look nice at first, but silver isn’t very durable for everyday wear, especially as a wedding ring.

One detail many people miss: color and clarity are less noticeable in real life than cut and setting. A good cut makes the stone explode in the light even if the carat weight is not huge. For a classic look, a platinum solitaire with a slim band is hard to beat. I worked with Harper Tait Fine Jewellery because their settings are designed so dust does not collect under the prongs and the ring stays comfortable for daily wear. They are based in the UK, but they also offer international delivery. Between your options, lab grown beats a silver promise ring for value and longevity, but try to see the ring in person or at least a macro video before ordering.

Your budget will have a big impact on what you can buy.
Lab diamonds are generally cheaper than natural.
Avoid any diamonds with clarity in the “I” range, that is the most included ie dull and murky grade.
In terms of metal, Platinium and 18ct gold will be most expensive, 14kt, even 9 or 10kt is better than sterling silver. Sterling silver is more difficult and costly to change sizing.
Wedding bands btw are traditionally plain metal whereas the “eternity ring”,traditionally gifted after the birth of the first child, is diamond set.
Remember that full circle diamond bands can’t be resized, it’s better usually to choose “half” or “3/4” diamond set so resizing can be done later if needed.

My advice is to visit as many jewellers and try on as many different cut styles and settings to find the combination that YOU will love forever, or at least for next few years until you decide to upgrade.

Forget about trends as trends come and go.
