The only one I have heard of people here using is Dimend Scaasi in Chicago. They make very nice quality settings!

There is Razny Jewelers in Addison, im a regular customer and Have made several purchases from them as well as repair work. Never had any custom work from them, but they are honest and reputable. Been around for years. I think they might have a store in Higland Park or Skokie as well (too far north for me)! I have a friend who had her engagement ring from Merry Richards, had a good experience, but that was 10 years ago. If you don't mind driving downtown or taking the train, I have two places I can recommend that I have had custom work done that are fabulous! One is in the diamond district in the loop, a husband and wife team that have been in the family biz for 60 years. They have made a few of my high end pieces. I think they are more of a wholesaler, but have people in the building who actually make the Jewelery. They have amazed me by creating pieces that were exactly what I was thinking of. There is also a jeweler that has a few locations, in the city but i have dealt with the manager of his Lincoln Square store. Not really high end, but they found my 3+ carat stone (love!) and had the ring setting hand made in New York. So they can get you what you want (need!) Let me know if either of the places interest you, can't say enough good things about both.

I would go in and ask to see examples of their work. You can do a search for Dimend Scaasi on the PS search at the top right hand side of your screen and see what other's experiences have been .

What a gorgeous band! I keep researching reviews and their work on here and so far it seems like people are happy. They quoted me $2,000 for a cushion halo with a few diamonds on the band in gold. I asked about platinum and it's only $300 more but they said gold is stronger and so they recommend that. I thought platinum was better for rings, am I wrong about this? I found this picture of a cushion halo around a round on their facebook page.

Haven's jeweller Burdeen's is in the area.
I haven't worked with them but I enjoyed communicating with them. I think they specialise in a more organic style, but their design and workmanship seems superb from everything I have seen (and I am difficult to please
