best bling of 2010

There are some pieces I think are gorgeous, and some that I wonder how other things didn't make it over them. Katy Perry's necklace was stunning!

+1 Katy Perry and Lea Michele's were my favorites

I liked Kate Winslet's necklace. But probably a sign of too much time on PS...I thought "meh" to most of the stuff. I'm more impressed with what I've seen here!

I loved Gwenyth's (sp?) earring. It looked lovely with her side swept hair.

I think the majority of the jewels were amazing...but I am really turned off by Jessica Simpsons ering.

I would buy a fake of Katy Perry's necklace and wear it every day. It's GORGEOUS.

LOVE the KP necklace! I would wear Kate Winslet's necklace all the time though.

I'm pretty blah about the rings. I mean, they're pretty, but BEST of 2010??

I didn't actually love many of the pieces, and there were a few I didn't like at all.

I don't know how these people can wear those really big earrings like Kim Kardashian. I'd be worried about my earlobes stretching to my knees!

I am trying hard to decide, is Lorraine Schwartz,

A) Really popular with the Hollywood set now,

or,

B) Paying somebody over at People directly.

Honestly, not too impressed with her designs, and not seeing her name in print in too many other publications, much less enough to account for over 50% of "The Year's Best Bling ...."

For serious. I was shocked that that much sparkliness could look so... bland. Some of my '50s costume jewelry looks more elegant.

Kate Winslet's necklace though. I'd make an exception to my general dislike of yellow for *that*.

My thoughts:

the princess D, er I mean Kate ring - LOVE it, always have. I love that dark blue... I love the contrast to the white diamonds. Here's where I think paying for D diamonds would be worth it!

J Simpson - I know she can afford a bigger ruby... those pears are so out of proportion. Maybe for a rhr but an engagement ring? Either pump up the center stone or tone down the side stones... nothing wrong with a smaller ring!

LOVE Hally Berry's stacked diamond bracelets, I could so get into that. Is that a bowtie on that ring? ::feigns contempt::

Carrie Underwood looks like she has been hanging out on Pricescope. Who knows, maybe she has! lol

Kim K - just yuck.

Blake Lively - who is she? Anyway, I don't see anything memorable jewelry wise.... just blah costume crap from the cheap counter at nordies

Ms Ritchie - I like her ring. It's modern, it's different, it's not too big, it fits her.

Carey Mulligan - Who? I've never seen nor heard of her in my life. Blake Lively *vaguely* rings a bell, but this person, she's famous? Jewelry... meh.

Katy Perry - NOT seeing what everyone else here is seeing... it's kinda cool I guess but it looks too much like this hand me down 1975 couch I had in my early adult years.... supposing the necklace was made in shades of beige and brown. Not loving it. Maybe if every other one was curved for a more deco look. It's a nice picture of her though :)

Ms Winslet - I like the chain and the first two yellow diamonds, but I would like the piece a whole lot more if they got rid of that ingot at the bottom altogether and maybe made the middle stone a drop yellow pear or something.

Lea Michelle - never heard of her either (seriously, I'm not THAT much in a cave here in China am I? Who ARE these girls????) and don't much like her neckpiece either.

Gwyneth - Earrings... eh, they're okay, not my style... fit her outfit fairly well... but the dress... I love the dress! Great fabric!

Heidi - oh Heidi, that is the worst picture of you I've ever seen. You look like you are turning into a cyborg. You may be the most beautiful woman in the world who looks amazing with no makeup and bounces back from having 4 kids to perfect flat enviable tummy in like a day... but that eyemakeup is wretched and with your hair... I want to like your hair, but I can't with those eyes staring at me. And your teeth - we won't mention carrots. Oh jewelry - yeah it fits the cyborg theme, I'm not interested.

JLo - love the dress, fits perfectly... love the super wide rhr that looks like 3 stackers loosely stuck together... like lace and diamonds.

Oooh I wish we could start a PS thread where we post our favorite PS bling of 2010. That's what I thought this thread would be about.

I like Jessica Simpson's ruby ring.

I am too. It seems if the amount of money that they claim was really spent, they could have bought a less cloudy ruby
