B&Ms in Hershey, PA

One of my best friends is preparing to propose to one of my other best friends. She''s charged me with making sure that he makes a good purchase and I''m trying my best to help him out with that even though we live about 5 hours (?) away in different states. I''ve told him all about pricescope and the awesome vendors that everyone on here seems to use, but he really wants to buy it from a physical store. Does anyone out there know of any trustworthy B&Ms in the Hershey, PA area?

Hi there,

If you look under the Resources drop-down menu at the top of this page you will find 3 local jewlers in PA. One looks as though it has an excellent trade-up policy. I have no idea where they are in relation to Hershey, but if Hershey is near any state lines you could also look in those states too. Just thinkin'' lincoln.

Thanks, LizzyD. I actually had never used the resources tab. Unfortunately, though, the jewelers listed in PA are all about 1.5 hrs away from Hershey which is in the middle of the state. Thanks though!

I don''t know how I missed this thread, since I''m originally from Hershey, PA and it''s a very small town... if your friend is from there as well, I probably know him! But unfortunately I don''t really know much about the jewelers in the area... there is one in Palmyra (neighboring town) that my dad uses called Herbe & Son Jewelers. I believe the owner was one of his college buddies, and a really good guy, so that might be a good place to start. I would also suggest he make a trip to Jeweler''s Row in Philly (only 1.5-2 hours...where I live now). There are a lot of fairly reputable jewelers here... we purchased our setting from Barsky''s and had a good experience. Sorry I can''t be of any more help!

Ahh, yes... we got lots of bewildered med students transplanted into our small, chocolate-scented town each year! There are definitely more resources outside of the sheltered Central PA area, but hopefully your friend will find what he needs. I've never been to Scott Herbe's shop so can't speak for the quality or inventory, but I can say that my dad is widely known for being an EXTREMELY honest, trustworthy, straightforward businessman himself, and would never associate with somebody who wasn't... so at the very least, I can assure you your friend won't be getting swindled if he goes there to check things out. I wish we had PMs... I would tell you my Dad's name and suggest your friend mention him if he goes to talk to Herbe's, but I don't know if he'd be comfortable with me posting it randomly on here... hmmm.

Thanks so much for your help! My friend went there and loved it! He ended up getting a really good deal and the ring should be ready on Tuesday! I can''t wait to see pictures!
