Hi all,

Just out of curiosity - for other people in Australia buying from overseas and having items shipped via FedEx - did you have to pay customs/duty to the local FedEx office before your item was released?

Because I didn't - and recieved the package at my work 3 days after WF sent it. It's been three weeks now and still haven't received any kind of bill. (The item was > AUD$10,000)

I did receive an import declaration about 1 week ago, which has a 'total amount payable' at the bottom, itemised via GST, Import Air Charge, Entry Charges Air etc - but no obvious way to pay, it just looks like a statement...

Any thoughts?

This is what happened to me too on my first go-round - they just missed it on the way in, then after a number of weeks sent me the account.
I''m pretty positive there would be a phone number or something - if not, don''t worry, FedEx will call you or send a notice for their money soon enough
