Hi! I am a noob here and I am looking to purchase a diamond for an engagement ring. I have found this site to be extremely informative and hope some of you diamond veterans can point me in the right direction. My girlfriend loves the Ritani Bella Vita collection, particularly the one that accomodates the bezel set Asscher cut diamond center stone (http://www.ritani.com/products/view/989/in_collection/8). I am trying to find the right diamond for this ring. Realizing that cut is very important, can anyone indicate the ideal cut statistics (similar to what is on the cut charts) for this diamond shape? I am having a hard time finding anything online but assume there has to be something. After all, I don''t want to get a terrible diamond because the cut is poor! Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Good Old Gold has some nice Asschers and also carries Ritani.

Also check out the Octavia Asscher.
I just bought an Octavia after wearing an excellent regular asscher for three years, and I'm blown away and beside myself about how good the Octavia looks.

I cannot endorse the Octavia asscher strongly enough.

Here is a Link to a a thread about it.

Good Old Gold sells them here.

Hi Elwood

Basic guidelines for an asscher are as follows;

depth 70% or less
table 65% or less
crown height 10% or greater ( Sarin or Helium scan will provide this value)

Then the rest comes down to images to check patterning and performance, for this ASET images and detailed photos are needed.

www.goodoldgold.com often have great asschers in stock and also as Kenny suggests the fabulous new Octavia!

depth 70% or less
Except for ones with very high crowns (20%+) with good spread and or antique style asschers.
