I contacted someone about cutting an asscher for me but he did not have the print design that shows how to cut this and I am trying to find it.

What does he need?

I mean if he does not know step cut, can you trust him to cut it with a diagram? Does he know the correct angles for each step for a beautiful cut?

Well I asked for an asscher cut and he said he had been asked a lot for that but couldn't find a design in print so I was trying to find it. His prices are reasonable for his stones so I thought I would try it.

isn't that the type of thing the cutters should have access to, and the customer should not have to find? (just curious...)

Just my opinion, but I'd be wary of a cutter that doesn't know how to do a good square emerald step cut.

The other possibility is the cutter is fishing for a royal asscher print design, and that's also fishy.

Getting the angles right is a 50 hour task in gemcad or DiamCalc then you have to redo it for every material you want to cut.(different RI)
Next to no one has posted the numbers online after that much work.
The basic facet outline is out there all over, the right angles for a given material not so much,,,,,

Yeah, I was suspecting this is like working your butt off for proprietary knowledge that is worth money and generates your own living, then being asked to give it away for free.
