Here are 2 diamonds - I need to buy one. Please help me decide which one is best !! Thanks.

Below are the ASET images for 2 diamonds:

Your forced to choose between the two? May I ask why you have gone so high on clarity? It really isn't necessary and you could save a lot of money or go higher in size without any difference to the eye. Same with colour.

Can you post the links to James Allen so I can seethe stones?

What did JA say about them? Both asets look good.

MrKool, would you mind posting the actual images for each diamond please?

I narrowed down to these 2 - looked at many. Still open to looking at others, I suppose.

I was given advice from friends and family that said go with the highest quality you can afford, so I chose to go with D-F and VVS2 or better. As for size, I actually don't want it to be too big...This is going on a ring that used to have a .40 carat center marquise diamond...so, I think anything bigger than 1.00 carat might actually look too big. (if there is such a thing?)

Here is what JA said about each one and also a link to see each diamond on JA:

" I have great news, the gemologist loves diamond 282043 because of its excellent fire, brilliance, and scintillation! It's beautifully cut and its bowtie is minimal, so its brightness balances nicely throughout the diamond. As you would expect, it's completely eye clean, has a gorgeous cut, and possesses an icy white "D" color. "

"Diamond 181951 is a fantastic option also, offering excellent light performance that nearly rivals diamond 282043. Its bow tie isn't distracting, it's eye clean, and it's icy white in color as well. The average eye shouldn't notice it, but when compared side by side, they felt that diamond 282043's faceting was just slightly more crisp than that one's." (NOTE: This diamond is $1,000 cheaper than above.)

There is a 3rd diamond that I am looking at a local store tomorrow - it's a D color, Flawless. .64 carat.
I will go see it and post some pics of that one here tomorrow. It's about the same price as 282043.

Any particular reason why #2 is labeled F IF?
