I did some looking around on JA trying to find something in WF ACA league. I like how this one looks but maybe there's too much light loss (white)?

Yeah I'm looking at the ACA princesses and they're filled with red and green, but generally aren't princesses not as bright? Don't they tend to leak some light in general?

Yea they are suppose to be more "eye catching" with all their contrast at various angles. I'm not sure bout this one, its a little pricey and is expect a little more.

To much leakage. Can you give us a link to the stone?

Agree.

Agree too.

I am not sure princess cuts are more eye catching either...

Ok so I voiced my concerns about a lot of white showing but apparently there gemologists don't operate on comission and are quite reserved when giving a diamond a review and they claimed this diamond is very amazing-

ASET images are helpful tools but whether they are good, average, or bad, they become irrelevant when a graduate gemologist has inspected the diamond in person. Out gemologists are not in the business of selling; only performing these kinds of services so customers know if they have a great diamond or not. In fact they are quite critical, so if they had something negative said such as "weak light performance," it would have been said. Diamond 1457106 received a fantastic review so I have no hesitations recommending this diamond as a great option.

Agree.
plus i'd prefer a square princess.

There's a .13 mm difference, you're not going to notice if its square or not

Where there other PR cuts in your range that you could view their ASET photos for light leakage? I agree with others that there is too much leakage with that stone.

As the rep for alternate diamonds - they may have ASETS on file for others.

Well this is JA. They don't have ASET on their website for princess cuts (maybe round brilliant).

Yea it looks like too much white but they seem to tell me it's great. If the white was green or blue i'd be fine with it

what is your budget/specs? they will review 3 diamonds for you so perhaps we can find some good candidates for comparison.

I wanted to spend about a $1000 on the diamond but willingly will spend as much to get a amazing quality. Ok for reference here's the other diamond they reviewed (attached). They are looking at one more that's priced very nicely and not sure if it's going to be a dud or not.

The price of the one they recommended is at $1180 ... if I go up a few more hundred to $1388 I can get this baby:

But the AGS cert shows a little different, i'm not sure why that is :

The ASET on that looks amazing! It hardly has any black (leakage). So if these batch of 3 turn up nothing, I might try another 3. I was hoping to find a diamond in the rough and get away with $500 and picking just as amazing diamond from JA. Since they don't have a super ideal cut category. Anyone able to do this?

unfortunately you cannot review another 3 diamonds, i believe you can /only/ review 3 diamonds.

Vince: if I were you, I would bump up my budget and go for the ACA princess. Extremely well cut princess cuts are hard to find, and buying one that is just "ok" could be a regrettable decision.

I think you guys are right. I think in context the gemologist might have been saying it has "great" sparkle, scintiliation, and fire compared to the other diamond. But great is just not "great" enough. It kind of works out since WF settings seem to be a little cheaper for what I want.
