What was it Andy Warhol said, everyone gets their fifteen minutes of fame?

@kmarla That's so cool! Immortalised in print forever!

No. But hubby swears that I am. I don’t live in the city that I teach in, but my mom does. So when we frequent the local mall, kids always come up to say hello! He jokes about how we can’t go anywhere!

Nope. My husband has been on tv several times doing his job. I was on tv a couple times as a child.

Where is the "we both are" button?

JK mostly. I imagine most people who are big-time won't out themselves of their anonymity on a luxury forum.

It's a personal mission of mine for no one in my family to become famous. Sometimes people become famous for bad/sad reasons, so I'm perfectly fine not being in the public eye for ANY reason!:cool2:

DH and I were famous for a hot minute years ago when we saved some ducks that had fallen into a sewer drain on Main Street in our town. Here we were trying to corral these little ducklings when the local news van showed up. That's about the extent of our fame lol!

Husband yes probably, I tell him he is "infamous" me no, although I've met some interesting A list celebrities, politicians and so on.

Many years ago, I got chased once by media/paparazzi in China because we were staying at the same hotel as Bjork and everyone thought I was Bjork.

Haha since we are sharing knowing some well known people in the public eye here is a photo of my dh hanging out with Norm Abram of "This Old House" in 2009...this is one of my dh's passions. Building and creating.

@luv2sparkle I love those photos. So heartwarming.:love:

@missy, my husband said he was really a nice guy. He doesn't work in LA but a small suburb in the OC, where you wouldn't think a celebrity would live. He told my DH that he married and asian lady and she wanted to live here next to her family. The photo is my DH's crew for the day, and they were on a run at Walmart of all places.
Was Norm Abram helping your DH on one of his projects or were they in front of one of "This old House" projects. I used to love that show. The precursor to all the home shows now, I guess.

When we lived in a mountain resort area for about 9 years, quite a few celebrities lived there. When we first moved there Tom Selleck has a house there as well as Rosanne Barr, we would see them in town or at a grocery store. Nobody there really cared and I never spoke to any I saw in town other than to say Hi in the check out line. I would run into Frank Valle at the store often. Some were friendlier than others. My youngest went to pre school with Christopher Mc Donalds little girl Rosie. (Shooter Magavin). We have a hilarious video of Rosie and Casey at a program they did. Rosie was serious about it and Casey was just mouthing 'where's my mommy' behind her. The looks she was throwing at him had me doubled over with laughter. Both kids are 21 now. Christopher would come to stuff separately and not talk to anyone but his wife was very involved and so sweet although I can't recall her name at the moment. To see celebrities in Lake Arrowhead was normal, to see them at walmart in the OC is just odd.

That’s nice to hear luv. It’s always lovely when the “star” is also a gem of a person. Haha gem :cool2:

Norm invited my DH to one of his projects he was working on in our neighborhood for his tv show. My DH met him through our contractor in the early 2000s. Norm is a regular nice guy. I never get star struck as to me they are just people. Some more talented and some more lucky but when it comes right down it or they are either nice or not nice and that’s what I go by. And Norm is very nice.

@missy, if you could only hire Norm for your remodel projects! Things would probably go smoothly!

Omg Norm and my dh would truly be the A team no doubt. I’m not complaining though. My dh singlehandedly made our kitchen reno a success. Too bad the GC on the beach kitchen reno project didn’t live up to his promises but my dh was on top of it the whole time and voila. Successful Reno. But oh it would have been a dream having Norm and my dh do the reno. :kiss2:

I agree with madelise. If I were one of the élite, I would have absolutely no reason to tell the folks here at Pricescope that I was. What would be my reason for doing so? To impress Pricescopers when I was already famous for my accomplishments in the larger society? I, personally, come here because I need this small community for friendship, advice, and validation. I somehow cannot see someone very important needing the small community here that I do! :))

Not that I mean to put Pricescope down! Movie stars and attorneys general may drop in to learn about diamonds from time to time! I just doubt they stay around for years.

I just ! Get her to hire you as her double!

Liar! You were SO star struck when you met ME!

Dropping in here.In the public eye on occasion on a big stage. Lots of work to do that requires it. Wish I wasn't.

My niece was at school to pick up her nieces, Bjork's kid went to the same school and they were having fun day or something, Bjork was dancing by herself to the music and my niece danced 'near here' because Bjork is sooo cool.. hang around Brooklyn long enough and you see lots of celebrities.

And personally, I wouldn't want them too, it would change the dynamics of this place and it's a great place to hang out :)

Geez, my brain is swiss cheese. You mention big stage, and DH was on one for a brief time in a roundabout way. He even signed autographs. Lol. He's had an interesting life. All while away from me!!:eek2:

I'm a legend in my own mind, does that count? Actually for my hobby this past year I published a book, and so did a book signing, had a radio interview, went to a couple conventions. I've been interviewed before for my hobby. So I'm known, in a extremely small niche way. Not enough to have a wikipedia page or anything. I am on a talking basis with people who are more famous in that field.

My Dad used to own restaurants and was well known in the area for that, to the extent he was asked to do business classes for a good university, and did a radio commercial for American Express "Do you know me?" We teased him for that.

@partgypsy Launching a book is so cool! Congratulations & I hope it hits the best sellers list for you!

Too funny! One of my friends had the same thing - they saved a bunny that was trapped on some train tracks and they came to interview her.

I am wholly unfamous and very boring though.

The irony is other than being short and looking part Asian and part not Asian with a white complexion I don't believe I ever looked like Bjork when I was much younger. I think its one of those things where the place we were back then saw so few Eurasian people at the time with such pale skin tones, they simply assumed I had to be her.
