this is as close as I can find to comparables...

https://www.pricescope.com/diamond-...&type_search=1&InHouseSearch=&InHouseSearch=0

somewhere in the neighborhood of 8,000- 9,000 is what I would expect considering the color of this stone is F and in the colorless range...and the comparables I found are G...

does this look like a good stone to you? how about for $6700

according to the HCA- that stone comes up:

Factor Grade
Light Return Very Good
Fire Very Good
Scintillation Very Good
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 2.4 - Very Good - Worth buying if the price is right

ran another search for comparables- could not find any in-house, but searched all just to get a feel for prices..

https://www.pricescope.com/diamond-...80&l_country=&l_region=&type_search=1&all=all

these stones are "good" as opposed to very good, and they are G in color. So they are lower than what you would be getting, so I think the price you are quoting seems about right for the stone. depends on what you are looking for.....

are you looking for the best stone 6,700 can buy? that all depends on what YOU value.,, cut? color? clarity? carat?

not really looking for the best that 6700 can buy. i wanted a good grade in color and cut and this seems to be one of the best stones i came across (searching in stores near me, not shopping online) i just know the basic for Cs and wanted a little more help deciphering the other characteristics of the stone before i make a decision. thanks for any help

Well, if not interested in buying online- then educate your eyes and let them pick for you! nothing better than seeing the stone in person. Learn about the 4 C/s and ask to see different colors side by side in comparable size and cut... Also, make sure to see the stone in "real lighting". the store lighting makes all stone sparkly and brillant. See if you can stand near a window with the stone and see how it looks then.

For the stats and the price, this stone seems prices appropriately, but maybe a trade person can chime in and remark on this.

Prefer the F stone. The G stone might have obstruction issue and the very thin girdle might be a durability issue depending the location and extent of the very thin portion.

agree- I prefer higher colors myself- the F cut isn't better according to HCA...

G HCA score-

Factor Grade
Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Excellent
Total Visual Performance 1.2 - Excellent
within TIC range

So- pros and cons- F is better color, and the girdle is better... con- cut is not as good as the G, and the size is smaller than the G
G- color is slightly more tinted, and the thin girdle *may* be an issue... but the cut is better, and the size is bigger.

I guess it depends on the $ and what your priorities are.

clarification- when discussions come up re: rejecting stones with higher HCA scores, it is often widely discussed that anything under than 2.0 is excellent- and excellent stones have more sparkle... do you feel that stones in the 2-4 range can have just as good a cut depending on various other factors that HCA does not take into account?

I want to purchase this weekend and was just shown this diamond GIA 1119069656 for $6200 PLEASE help, is this a good diamond and good deal
