Appropriate measures to take when sending your diamond ring?

Help! I am switching the setting on my e-ring and went through an unknown (by unknown I mean not discussed on PS or known directly through friends/family). The company has great reviews online. When I ordered the setting to be made they just took my engagement ring - diamond and all - which I knew was going to happen. Only problem is how do i trust I will be getting the same stone back once I receive my new ring and the diamond is already set? There are no noticeable inclusions and the GIA laser inscription from what I understand was VERY difficult to see. One jeweler even told me he couldn't find it at all. Getting nervous!! Am I overreacting?!

Did you have the ring checked/appraised locally when you got it to be sure the diamond was the one in the GIA report? Hopefully so, and then you can do that again once it comes back.

Yes! The numbers inscribed on the diamond match the GIA (had it checked the day prior)- WouldI ask them to take the diamond out when I receive the ring back - after it is set?
