I am purchasing this stone from Whiteflash and am having them set it for me. What can an appraiser tell me about a stone that is already set? I am inclined not to take it to one because I''m 99.9% sure I''ll love it. What are your thoughts? Can anyone recommend an appraiser in the Cleveland ,Ohio area?
P.S. I have been lurking for a while now and all your posts have taken me from some one fairly ignorant about diamond purchasing to the purchase of this stone. This is a wonderful board! Karen

Actually, we can tell you quite a lot, including some things that aren''t available for unset stones. In particular, ''Was it damaged during the setting process?'' and ''Was it set properly?''
