Apparently, What We Need is a Support Group

You may be familiar with Al-Anon, a part of Alcoholics Anonymous. It's a support group for the family and close friends of alcoholics. Apparently, the alcoholics have messed up other people's lives and made their lives pretty miserable. The poor friends and family need a support group to help them cope. (Excellent program, I recommend it for your year-end charitable donations.)

I've been reading the last few threads here on PS, about lousy gift-givers, cruel, loose-tongued relatives, and various other sad threads. This bring me to a conclusion;

There sure are a lot of a-holes out there.

So, because so many of us are hurt by rude, nasty and just plain mean people, and they are messing up our lives, we should form our own support group; A$$-Anon.


Like Al-anon, we need a prayer;
God grant me the serenity to accept the rudeness I cannot change,
Courage to ignore the jerks I can,
And the wisdom to know when to get the heck away from them.

Ugh! I'm sonnyjane and I'm a member too! I have a co-worker that has been making my life hell for the last several months. He was supposed to leave the company and take a job elsewhere, and his last day was going to be the 26th of this month. I've been counting down the days until I could finally look forward to waking up for work again!!! So, he had told everyone I work with, including our manager, that the reason he was leaving was because of "tension with other workers", i.e., me. Well...yesterday, thinking that I only had one more week with him, I decided to sit down and tell him that I understand we are really not getting along, but that I really just wanted to be civil for the last week that he's around and he agreed. Today, when he came back from speaking with our manager to tell her that he'd be staying, he said that AFTER TALKING WITH ME, HE FELT MUCH BETTER ABOUT THE SITUATION AND THAT HE WANTED TO STAY! We still hate each other and butted heads all day today! I was just trying to be polite and get through the final week without major incident, and I shot myself in the foot!

Oooh! A Christmas miracle lol! Today was my day off, but my co-worker just called to tell me that this morning, the guy I don't like came in to work late and hungover. He had already jerked around HR with the whole leaving then not leaving thing, so when he showed up late today (something he makes a habit of), my manager told him that maybe it would be best of he stuck to the original plan and just quit after Christmas!!!! So, he's out of there! Two more days and I'm done!
