My boyfriend and I are interested in this setting from James Allen:

We like the double claw prong look, and it is significantly cheaper than other double claw prong settings that we've seen. We're concerned about the "donut" beneath the diamond. Does anyone know if this particular donut extends beyond the shank? I'd like my wedding band to sit flush with my engagement ring as much as possible.

The matching bands are both described as curved, so I'd say that a regular wedding ring would not sit flush. The photo makes it look like the donut does extend beyond the shank.

As Libby said, it definitely looks like it sticks out wider than the shank and so a straight band will not sit right up against the prongs. However, the doughnut is there to protect the prongs from being damaged by a band rubbing against them.
