I got some great tips on hair products, so thought I''d try my luck again...
I have a feeling this doesn''t exist, but still have spent lots of $$ falling for marketing promises of the perfect eye cream. I have dark puffy circles that are partly age, partly tiredness (baby bags!), and some herditary. No creams really work. Does anyone have one that actually has an effect? I think some have a temporaray effect, but really that could be due to a good night''s sleep tool! Just curious if there are suggestions to avoid me buying yet another ineffective cream. Otherwise I''m guessing nothing but plastic surgery will get rid of these suckers!

I have the same problem as you, that''s why I use concealer. I hope someone chimes in on this thread.

YSL Touche Eclat is great for hiding dark circles.

I''ve been using Benefit Eyecon for awhile now. It helps with puffiness and dark circles for me, but not fine lines. It gets mixed reviews on the boards, however, so you might try to get a few samples to try if you don''t want to gamble. $30 to 40 as I recall (one jar lasts me at least 6 months.)

I have really liked the LaMer eye concentrate but it is super pricey. I have read good reviews on the Murad eyecreams, and on the skin care thread someone
mentioned Skinactives. They had an eyecream that looked interesting.

I hate buying a new one that I am not sure if it will work. I have tried so many. I keep going back to the LaMer because of this. Instyle magazine had their
picks a while back and recommended one called Lumeniere (I think). I got a sample and it burned when I first put it one. Sephora will give samples and I liked
the Murad one.

I will be checking with this thread, because I would love to find a less expensive but just as effective eye cream too.

FWIW... I don''t have bags, but perhaps my experience will help luv2sparkle at least. After noticing tiny little wrinkles under my eyes a few years ago (most likely brought about by (a) moving to a drier climate and (b) the ravages of aging), I too started out with La Mer Eye Concentrate for a while. On a whim, I tried L''Oreal Advanced Revitalist Double Eye Lift-- and oh my goodness, it''s great! All my little creases hydrate and disappear when I use the white side-- even better than with the La Mer product.

Janinegirly, if I recall correctly the box says it''s good for reducing bags as well, though I can''t speak to that from experience. At ~$15 or so, however, there''s not much harm in trying it out, you know?

I am not kidding - try Carmex on your dark circle... It works for me!

Thank Fleur! I will try that. I have tried so many I despaired of every finding one at a reasonable price! Under my eyes is very sensitive so alot of stuff burns
or makes me break out. I will give it a try!

great tips!

amethyste: Carmex..are you serious???

fleur: I''ll give the L''Oreal Revitalist a try, why not. La Mer is mostly for wrinkles, right? Of course I''ve only heard raves about La Mer, but I don''t really have wrinkles (must be because I''ve used eye creams forever!

vrbeauty: benefit eyecon sounds interesting, it did catch my eye at sephora, but I though...oh, can''t fall for another miracle cream! I wonder if sephora has samples. thanks!

Keep the tips and finds coming!!

janinegirly-the La Mer does work great, but it is pricey at 169.0 per jar. It works best with the regular La Mer on top of it. I dont buy that, they always give
you sample jars when you buy the other stuff (Nordstom @ South Coast does). I am almost 50 (yikes) and I dont have any wrinkles around my eyes at
all. At 10X magnification I can see little tiny fine ones under my eyes. I want to keep them that fine for as long as I can.

I have allergies so I do get puffiness and sometimes dark circles, the la mer works on those, but so does the Murad I have heard and that is 60.00.

I am going to run out and get the Revitalist by Loreal. Paula Begoun said that the main ingredients in the regular La Mer are mineral oil and petroleum. She
claims that those ingredients are fine and the science says that the amount of estrogen receptors that that stuff links to is not a issue, but I dont think
I will completely believe that. There has been too many times that things have been deemed safe and then later there is a big ''oops'' anouncement.
I would rather avoid it, but I am not sure that is possible in an eyecream.

I hope some more people check in with what they use.

I use Clinique''s "All About Eyes" to reduce puffiness and under eye circles, Moisture Surge for Eyes before I go to bed especially in winter time, and Clinique''s Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream (great stuff) before I put on my make-up. It all works for me.

yes! I use Carmex around my eyes! Have been for years! Silly you probably all think I fell off my rocker, but its $1 a tube versus "la Mer" that is probably over $100! The best tricks are usually the cheapest. I also wash my face with Noxema. I have been since i was 12!! My skin is really nice - no wrinkles and I am close to 40.

I heard great reviews about Patricia Wexler's de-puffing eye gell, and it works better when refrigerated. I just started using it, and we'll see.

My manager, who I complained about lack of sleep to, told me I didn't have bags under my eyes at all, so that's a good sign (unless she was just being nice).

Ditto! I''ve used the All About Eyes and also the All About Eyes Rich (which is thicker ~ like the consistency of body butter if that makes sense). I love them both! I''ve also used the Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream and I like that one too!

What I love about the Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream is that it allows my concealer to glide on without looking crepe-y or separating

. I found (in the last two years) that I have to do everything I can do to combat the outward signs of my real age.

Who makes the repairwear eye cream?
