Anybody here try Spanx or Flexees?

I think I have to finally give in and buy one to help with my (I hate to admit it and say it, as I HATE the term) muffin top...

There are so many styles and it seems that they don't let you try them on, so I'm hoping you can give me some tips if you use them...one thing I know is that it should be high wasted otherwise the garment itself will cause the fat to spill over...

arrrggggghhhhhh...how I wish I could go back to the days where I had no fat around my belly - I don't think I ever really fully appreciated it.

I tried a bunch of different styles to wear under my wedding dress. In general I definitely agree with getting a high-waisted one (that comes up under the bust), and if you're going to be wearing pants something that isn't cut like a swimsuit on the bottom (they're pretty tight, so unless you have Buns of Steel..) - just fyi when you buy, buy the size you normally wear, not a little smaller to fit snugly.


BUT I would really recommend trying some on in-store, if you have a Nordys near you they were happy to let me try some on? I have a shorter torso and longer legs, and I found that *all* of them (other than the regular panties) made me look boxy. The seaming made the garment waist nip me in at the tummy, did nothing for my natural waist, and fit poorly over my hips. I think that if you already have the hourglass figure that the shaper is designed to enhance, it will enhance, but if you're proportioned differently though better by far to go without, as it will nip and tuck in all the wrong places and it's so snug it's completely unforgiving!

spanx! love the one that comes up under the bra - wore it for my wedding. find a department store - you can try them on!

I bought the high waisted spanx. They are shorts basically that come up real high right under my bra. They came with straps that actually can be connected to your bra so that they don't roll down allowing the muffin top to come back! I really liked them. Smoothed me right out under my bridesmaid dress. Oh and on a side note, my pair of spanx actually had an opening in them so that you could pee without taking them off!!! WTH!!! I don't know anyone who could have peed out of those without peeing on themself!!! hahahaha!!!!

Thanks for sharing your experiences, and for letting me know I could try them on - I assumed they wouldn't because they're like "intimate" apparel. I was going to go tonight but changed my mind - it's nice and cozy inside the house. But yes, I think I'll need to buy something that smooths out the waistline...will let you know how it goes.

Spanx - the thigh to under boobs ones. Totally unbeatable - plus if you tuck the top of your stockings under the part that comes down your legs it holds them up all night. They're also very comfortable.

Only thing I don't like is the 'pee hole' thing - they're not that hard to roll down and back up again.
