Any Vegas brides?

FI and I will likely get married in Vegas as it just happens to be one of our favorite places.

Any other Vegas brides out there?

Our will be on the small side and not your typical long ceremony with 4 hour reception. We'll have maybe 25-30 people and are thinking about doing the ceremony in a silly Vegas chapel and then going to a restaurant for dinner. This is the 2nd time around for the both of us so we don't want to go the traditional route.

Would love to hear about your Vegas weddings! Venue ... time of year .... number of guests, etc.

Congratulations!!! I can't share any experience as a Vegas bride, but if I were to get remarried again, I would TOTALLY go to Vegas, as it is the 'happiest place on earth' for adults, IMO! I also would not go the fancy route of using one of the hotel wedding chapels but I would consider checking out some of the north end of the strip (N LV BLVD) and the variety of wedding chapels there. My DH and I have even joked about having Elvis perform a recommitment ceremony!

As for after, I'm in complete agreement about a lovely dinner out - there are a myriad of restaurants to chose from, so that part would be tough to decide. You could narrow it down by what hotel you would be staying at? OR what type of food you'd prefer? or what restaurant could provide you with a fixed price plated dinner for XX people....

Last 6 times I've been, we've stayed at the Aria (going again in November w #2 son!!) and they are wonderful people to work out something special with. You can contact the concierge service at any of the hotels and see what they could work out for you in terms of block guest rooms, limo pick up at airport and arranging a dinner at one of their restaurants. If any of that is required...

As for the time of year, and you've been as well I think, so you'll know how much heat you are comfortable being exposed to, but my favourite times of the year are March - May then again September to late October. It gets cool at night in the 'winter' months and it is insanely hot in the summer! This June/July when we were their for our anniversary, it was averaging about 40C give or take a few degrees... stifling especially if you and your guests have on any 'finery'!

Very exciting - please keep us posted!!

Thanks so much! My thoughts are exactly what you wrote out. LOL I'm glad to know I'm on the right track!

For now, it's just finding the right chapel for us (Little Chapel of the West looks cute) and then the restaurant. I love Vegas at ALL times of the year ... yes, even in the middle of the summer. :) BUT we are going for the trifecta celebration and will be getting married between Xmas and New Years since our birthdays fall during that time as well so it will definitely be cold. I just hope not rainy!

Restaurant will be another thing to figure out. Even though it's a total chain, we love Maggianos and enjoy their family style servings PLUS they are super gluten free friendly. Cut is my favorite steakhouse, but that may be too pricey when you're paying for up to 30 people. The only thing I don't like about it is the location. If the weather is ugly, there is no way to avoid being outside to get to and from the restaurant.

Good to know about Aria. I'm a Palazzo girl myself, but do love the casino and design at Aria.

I've got a while to plan (wedding will be in December 2013, but maybe even 2014), but I'm super excited about it!

Thanks again for the response!

I'm not getting married in Vegas but I'm a Vegas resident. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to answer!

YES!!

After our ceremony and reception at home, we went to Las Vegas to get legally married, and, as big fat gluttons, to have ANOTHER ceremony of our own! We stayed at the Bellagio, and went to the graceland wedding chapel to get married by Elvis. It was so much fun!!
