I'm in process of designing a setting with my girlfriend for our E-ring for an OMB diamond. We are interested in a hand forged setting by either VC, SK or LM. We really like the HW inspired design with a high split shank like this:
We would like a cathedral design so that we can have a wedding band sit flush with the E-ring
We are interested in having a more intricate basket design similar to the one shown below:
We like the idea of also having the basket sit on top of the band so that a wedding band can sit flush against the E-ring under the basket.
My questions are:
1) Does anyone have an example of a similar design to the style and basket I am looking at designing?
2) Is it possible to have a basket design like this sitting on the band with a hand forged setting? i.e. is it structurally possible?
3) Will having a basket instead of an open design affect the performance of the diamond?
