Hi! I know this budget isn’t quite up to PS standards, but my husband would like to buy me a piece and I’m trying to narrow down options. Thinking about bracelets or earrings, especially with the holiday sales coming up.

I was considering stretching a bit to the Costco tennis bracelet: https://www.costco.com/round-brilliant-5.00-ctw-vs2-clarity,-i-color-diamond-14kt-gold-tennis-bracelet.product.100493040.html

Or maybe diamond studs. Would prefer to be able to try and return in NYC.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, or reviews of this bracelet?

Are you thinking tennis bracelet only? If so then Costco is a good choice. If you are open to other styles then we can help you brainstorm.

HI:

You have a lovely budget and I like that bracelet. Do you have diamond studs already?

cheers--Sharon

I do not! Looking for classic pieces.

That’s a generous budget! The tennis bracelet is classic, so are studs. You can’t go wrong with either!

Here are a pair of studs to consider:

You can add this setting:

I am open to other styles and would LOVE ideas.

A bangle or cuff would be classic. Do not recommend DBTY because they flip

You could stretch your budget by using decorative links. This is a necklace. With your budget you could do more/bigger diamonds with a bracelet.

Stuller has standard size links that you might be able to use a local jeweler for setting.

You asked for advice, so I will add to the feedback. Your mileage may vary and certainly others would prioritize differently.

If I were starting out, I would begin at studs and consider the size that would look good for daily wear. Studs are a staple choice. They look good from day to night and are always appropriate. I would put thought into a good size that will be close to your wish list. Buying a pack of costume studs in assorted sizes can be helpful. Then decide do you want dazzling white, or would a lower color be best? This depends on your coloring, preferred metal color and color sensitivity.

Then, you should define color vs precision vs a great cut at larger size with more savings. All a juggling act of finding your best look.

Not that a tennis bracelet would be inappropriate, but you may not care to wear that as often, depending on lifestyle and what you like to do. Costco can be a good choice for tennis bracelets and they do have sales.

I love the studs! Thank you to everyone for the recs.

MMtwo, I had some second thoughts about a tennis bracelet too as perhaps a bit different than my everyday style. I am also open to a diamond bangle. It seems like a sturdy option?

Someone in the forum had the most gorgeous, spectacular one. It struck me as a nice way to slightly maximize diamonds (on the top side?) in a fresh, cool way.

One of the hardest things for me while collecting is defining what my style is vs what I love. This may not be something you deal with. Some people are born curators with full intention and strategy.

Myself, I can get so inspired by someone else, I forget myself and my stuffy practicality :) I have bought, loved and let go because something is not my style, although I love it.

No matter what you decide, we’re all here to enjoy your journey! I am not a cut expert like many here, but when you need a hand, there are some fantastic, kind folks who will help you with options.

I vote for the tennis bracelet. I find that I change my earrings often, but my bracelets are worn daily, especially because they match with all of my rings. Also, I love being able to see my diamonds (this is probably why I buy rings and bracelets more than earrings).

$4k is a healthy budget for jewellery imo! You could get something quite nice for that.

I actually made a thread with a similar question soliciting ideas a while ago, if you’d like to see the suggestions to get your mind buzzing: https://www.pricescope.com/communit...a-piece-of-jewelry-what-would-you-buy.283863/

If you don’t have studs I would go for those - MRBs are the easiest to find and I think look the best on the ear (maximising size and sparkle, being symmetrical etc). Colour, clarity, size, and willingness to compromise (a little) on cut is all personal to you.

My second option would be the tennis bracelet, or maybe a 5 stone ring.

If you have the staples already, I like the idea of a DBTY necklace!

@MMtwo - can you give me some advice on how to get a camera shot as good as yours? What a beautiful ring - I have taken like 200 pictures of my new BG/DK ring and I just can't manage to get one anywhere close to that good!

Sure! Thank you. In the car and backlit by the sun rays coming through the back seems to be a lucky shot. I think I was having lunch in the car. It may have been in the late afternoon. Same as the shot below. Lit from within from behind. Another good trick is in the shade on a sunny day.

That and @Kim N and @DejaWiz that have awesome picking skills.

I love the studs idea! They really are a foundation jewelry piece.

Another option, is soli diamond pendant necklace. Like studs, a soli pendant is also a classic, foundational piece in a jewelry wardrobe.

If you buy a jewelry piece with a diamond(s), then I would consider the upgrade policy on the diamonds you buy, and buy from a place like WF with a good policy. That way, your diamonds can grow with you over the years.

This is a fun project! Allow yourself to enjoy the brainstorming / searching / creation phase of it! (In my book, the planning is almost as fun as the wearing!)

Oh, this! I bought a pair at a vendor that does not have sufficient inventory available for an upgrade. I regret not going with Whiteflash.
