any reason to wait a while?

so I have begun my E-Ring search. Well actually it started a month or so ago, but most of that was research. Anyway, I really have no need to pop the big Q before the new year, so I ask you, is there any reason pros/cons to waiting til the new year to purchase the stone/setting? is it better to act before the new year, or maybe more time is the best thing... I already made the most important choice.. she is the one... so the ring is secondary.. just looking for a good deal.


If i give a vendor more time to find "my/her" perfect ring is this good? or should i just decide on what i find available right now?

for some reason I would think that not trying to compete with the holiday proposals would be a good thing.

I personally would not wait, great stones don''t last, and you''ve picked out some very nice ones! I''ve bought from this company and they''re great to work with. They are closed now until Tuesday, but I would give them a call then.

As for your picks, IF the F SI1 is eyeclean, that would be my first choice, great color and clarity. But honestly, you couldn''t go wrong with any of them!

The only reason to wait is if you need to save up the money.
Or, if once you get the ring it will too irresistable to pop the question earlier!
(but your girlfriend might see that as a plus)

Ellen, ya I like that F si1 too, but there are alot of inclusions close to the edge, Tim is going to look at it on tuesday and help me out.

Indie J, I have made contact with GoG and Marie and I are already working out the specs for the setting. I was thinking about proposing duing our trip to Paris in May, but that is a long way off, I dont know if i could sit on a ring that long.
